Mental Health Monday – Week 32

This week I’d like to discuss the importance of taking breaks.

I’ll be honest… I contemplated not writing this week but I decided to turn my feelings into a moment to teach.

Like many, I have a lot going on.

I won’t bore you all with the details but, I will say it’s important to take breaks.

We must learn to honor ourselves & our bodies.

We need to start viewing rest as a priority & not a secondary option.

We need to stop measuring productivity by activity because sometimes taking a break is being productive.

Most importantly we need to acknowledge when we just don’t have anything to offer or contribute.

Showing up for ourselves is the key to showing up for others.

Moral of the story is to take a break & not feel guilty or inadequate because of it.

Taking a break allows for renewal.
