An educator.

Someone who freely gives energy & time to their students even while carrying the weight of their own life.
Someone who makes an impact that goes far beyond school.
This week I’m reflecting on the educators who not only taught me but held immense space for me.
I’m grateful for these women who had a hand in shaping me & I’m lucky to still be in contact with them today.
Nothing drives my point home more than sustaining relationships with these women even now as an adult & educator myself.
Full circle moments like these are the ones I live for.
As the school year is getting closer to finishing, I’ve been taking mental notes on all the relationships I’ve built with all of my students & their families my first year as a teachers aide & I’m so thankful for the role I play in all of their lives.
The impact I’ve made is undeniable.
The confidence I’ve helped built is making a difference.
The choices my students make reflect my influence, most times… cause well, kids will be kids. 😅
All in all, I’ve been schooling folk for a while now but this week it really hit home for me.
I may not have children of my own but I’ve mothered many & I know the work that I do is not only impactful but my chance to really see the changes I want to see in the world.
To all the teachers & staff that I personally know, here’s to all we do!
